Other things to know before you go

Visa Requirements: Most travellers need a visa or electronic travel authorization to enter Sri Lanka. Visa requirements vary by nationality, and many visitors must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) prior to departure. Please check the current entry requirements for your passport and obtain any required visa or ETA before your tour starts.

Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is required for this tour and must cover your entire journey through Sri Lanka. Your Tour Leader will ask for your insurance details on Day 1.

Included Costs: Meals include most breakfasts and several lunches/dinners as specified in the itinerary; many entrance fees and optional activities are not included unless specifically stated.

Itinerary Highlights & Logistics: Travel is by air-conditioned coach and includes varied terrain such as lowland plains, hill country climbs and scenic coastal drives. Some travel days involve longer segments to connect major regions, planned with comfort and pacing in mind.

Optional Activities: Optional experiences may include wildlife safaris in national parks, traditional cultural shows, local village visits, boat excursions and scenic train rides. These activities are available at extra cost and may require advance booking or minimum participant numbers.

Seasonal & Climate Notes: Sri Lanka’s climate varies by region and season, with a tropical monsoon pattern. Coastal and lowland areas are generally warm year-round, while higher elevations like hill country are cooler. Rainfall patterns differ between the southwest and northeast monsoon seasons. Pack for warm weather, rain protection, and layers for cooler highland evenings.

Packing: Pack lightweight, breathable clothing for warm days, layers for cooler mornings or hill country evenings, and comfortable walking shoes. Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) and rain gear (light waterproof jacket) are recommended. For temple and religious site visits, modest attire covering shoulders, knees and chest is required.

Solo Travellers: Solo travellers can choose to upgrade to a private room or share accommodation with a fellow traveller of the same gender at no additional cost (subject to availability).
