Hanging Church

The Hanging Church, also known as Saint Virgin Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church, is one of Cairo’s oldest churches, dating back to the 3rd–4th centuries. Perched above a gatehouse of the Babylon Fortress, its unique location and richly decorated interior make it a centerpiece of Coptic Christian heritage.
