Angkor Thom

Within the vast Angkor complex, Angkor Thom stands as one of Cambodia’s most remarkable ancient cities, a grand walled capital where monumental gates, temple towers, and royal terraces still speak of the power of the Khmer Empire. Founded in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, its name means “Great City,” and even today the scale of the site remains striking.
