Visa Requirements: Most travellers need a visa or entry authorization to visit Japan; requirements vary by nationality. Some visitors may qualify for visa-exemption or electronic travel authorization, while others must apply in advance. Please check the current entry requirements for your passport and ensure any necessary documents are obtained before your tour starts.

Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is required for this tour and must cover your entire journey across Japan. Your Tour Leader will ask for your insurance details on Day 1.

Included Costs: Meals include most breakfasts; many lunches, dinners, entrance fees and optional activities are not included unless specifically stated in the itinerary. Transportation between cities via coaches, trains and domestic flights (if included) is covered as outlined in the tour program.

Itinerary Highlights & Logistics: Travel includes high-speed trains and coach transfers between destinations, with thoughtfully planned routes to blend efficient transit and immersive sightseeing. Some travel days involve long journeys by rail or road, but these are balanced with engaging cultural stops and expert guidance.

Optional Activities: Optional experiences may include traditional tea ceremonies, cultural workshops, guided museum tours, seasonal performances, river cruises and culinary tastings. These activities are available at extra cost and may require advance booking or minimum participant numbers.

Seasonal & Climate Notes: Japan’s climate varies significantly by region and season. Spring and autumn are popular for mild weather and seasonal beauty (cherry blossoms or autumn leaves), while summer can be warm and humid and winter cool to cold, especially in northern or mountainous regions. Pack layers to adapt to changing conditions and check weather forecasts before departure.

Packing: Pack lightweight, breathable clothing for warmer days and layers for cooler mornings or evenings. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for city exploration and temple sites. Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses) is recommended in warmer months. For cultural sites and traditional experiences, modest attire that covers shoulders and knees is appreciated.

Solo Travellers: Solo travellers can choose to upgrade to a private room or share accommodation with a fellow traveller of the same gender at no additional cost (subject to availability).
