Visa Requirements: This tour visits multiple Balkan countries and Romania, and visa requirements vary by nationality. Some travellers may need visas for certain countries, while others may enter visa-free. Please check the entry requirements for all destinations included in your itinerary and obtain any required visas before your tour starts.
Travel Insurance: Travel insurance is required for this tour and must cover your entire journey across all countries visited. Your Tour Leader will ask for your insurance details on Day 1.
Included Costs: Meals include most breakfasts; many lunches, dinners, entrance fees and optional activities are not included unless specifically stated in the itinerary.
Multi-Country Travel & Border Crossings: This tour travels through several Balkan countries and into Romania’s Transylvania region. You’ll travel by modern, air-conditioned coach and experience multiple international border crossings. Border procedures and waiting times vary by location and can be influenced by local conditions, so some flexibility is helpful.
Itinerary Highlights & Logistics: Some travel legs between regions involve long scenic drives, so be prepared for varied terrain and travel durations.
Optional Activities: Optional experiences may include scenic boat trips, local cultural performances, wine tastings, castle visits or nature excursions. These activities are available at extra cost and can usually be arranged during your tour.
Packing: Pack for varied climates and terrain: lightweight clothing for warmer coastal and lowland areas, layers for cooler inland or mountainous regions, and comfortable walking shoes for city tours, historic sites and countryside stops. Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen) is recommended during warmer months, and warmer outerwear is useful in cooler seasons or higher elevations.
Solo Travellers: Solo travellers can choose to upgrade to a private room or share accommodation with a fellow traveller of the same gender at no additional cost (subject to availability).
